Zoe Hastings Family Fund
$46,597 of $20,000 goal
Her life was cut short on October 12, 2015 by an unspeakable tragedy. She was the oldest of five children - with three little sisters and a brother who adored her. Zoe's parents, Cheryl, a nurse, and Jim, a teacher, loved and adored their oldest child beyond words, and were so proud of her accomplishments.
Should you wish to support The Hastings family as they grieve, and to allow them to stay close with their family during this sensitive time, please give here.
Your prayers and well wishes are very appreciated.
For reference, Zoe was the beautiful niece of my sister and brother-in-law. I asked Zoe's parents if I could create this page to support them in their time of need. The money raised here will go toward helping the family replace the family vehicle that was destroyed in the tragedy, pay for funeral and burial costs, as well as housing and general support for Zoe's parents and four siblings. The money will be given directly to Zoe's parents as a gift to the family and no further . I had the wonderful pleasure of watching Zoe grow into a fabulous young woman and my family and I will miss her terribly.
When making a donation to this fund, you are acknowledging this is a gift to the Hastings family in which no goods or services will be received in exchange for your donation.
Hi, I am a close friend of the Hastings family. Just to clarify, there are indeed two gofundme accounts set up to help this wonderful family out in this time of need. One was set up by a relative, and the other was set up by a school friend of Zoe. Please feel free to donate to either one, as all funds go directly to the Hastings family.
I am praying for all hurt by this tremendous loss of beautiful Zoe. I hope your family can feel moments of comfort during this heart wrenching time. As a mother, my heart breaks for you most, Cheryl. I picture Zoe wrapped safely in Big Jim's arms now, and in her Savior's arms; and all of them praying together for those they love dearly here on earth, especially her mother.
Fran - while I understand your confusion over the two pages prior to them being explained, your statement on how much they've raised already is moot. As someone who has experienced senseless murder - my fiancé was beaten to death in front of me by three men with baseball bats - I can assure you there are far more expenses than people realize. Yes there is the funeral but beyond that there are smaller things that add up. I had to purchase a new bed after my fiancés death we lying in the one we shared together sent me into physical convulsions. The same with the car we shared. Zoe's family may not have the same reaction but there WILL be many many costs to come including therapy which adds up very quickly. Not to mention legal fees for what is to come. I know $35K may seem like a lot but seven years later I still am in therapy for PTSD and survivors guilt. I can't begin to tell you the financial cost of my fiancés murder but it far exceeded $35K years ago. Instead of concerning yourself with the amounts raised here please just sit back, hold your loved ones and thank God you don't know how expensive this situation can be.
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Hastings. Your family is beautiful and obviously full of light. I have also lost a child, although the circumstances were very different. I am so sorry for the pain you're enduring. There is nothing like it. But please know your neighbors, perfect strangers, are lifting you up in prayer and in tender care. Your family will love one another through this time. LOTS OF LOVE TO YOU ALL.
I'm a classmate of Cheryl's, working on our master's in nursing currently. I never met Zoe but am sure she was an amazing woman, just like her mother. I am sure she will be missed. I am so, so sorry this happened and have this family in my thoughts and prayers.
I am so thankful that people are helping this family with donations. Losing a loved one period, & to this kind of tragedy. What a beautiful young girl, she had her life ahead of her. Getting ready to set out in to the world & do amazing things. I hope that they catch the mother focker responsible for her taking her life.
Im not understanding how their car fits in hete? Was she in the car when they found her? Very sad.
Are there any details of a service as of yet, or is it too soon?
