Zion's Journey

$10,940 of $15,000 goal

Raised by 84 people in 18 months
Zion  is a 17 year old who was diagnosed in May of 2017 with osteosarcoma cancer(bone) in his right ankle.   This type of cancer occurs in the long bones in your body and is really common among athletes.

Zion has completed seven rounds of chemotherapy.  He will have a surgery to remove the tumor.  The tumor is located on his ankle and because of the location he will need to have his right ankle and foot amputated.

Zion's Smile and strong spirit has helped to keep our family optimistic that he will beat this cancer.

Zion Prom 2018

I am excited to share this post. Zion attended prom last night. He was able to walk without his crutches and had an amazing night!!! It is always amazing to see what God can do. It has been one year since we found out about Zion’s cancer journey. I am happy to report that he will be attending Morehouse College in the fall. He will graduate next week and he is truly living his life.

Thank you for all of the prayers, encouraging words, hugs, and love. We needed each of those to make it through. I am so honored to share Zion’s 2018 prom pictures!!!

Zion has completed his last chemo treatment. He went for his first set of scans last week. The doctor is willing to remove his port. This is all really good news!!!! We are so blessed to say that he is remission and cancer is something of the past for Zion.

Thank you for all of the prayers, encouraging words, texts, hugs, and support. We are so blessed to have you in our corner. All of the things you did for our family helped make this journey easier.

I wouldn’t want anyone to experience this journey especially with their child. I am happy to have the community that we have because you helped us get up each day and stay positive knowing that one day the rainbow would come. I am happy to say that today I see the rainbow. I can’t wait to share that Zion is able to run and jump over the rainbow.

Big Hugs to each of you for bringing smiles and positivity to our family. We are working on how to
help others smile during their cancer journey. We will share once we decide what that will be.
