Playground for Zion Ferguson School
Students at the Child Development Center of Zion Lutheran Church in Ferguson, Missouri need a place to play outside, a safe place to exercise, socialize, and have fun. They need an environment that enriches their play and inspires their imagination.
Our current facilities, sadly, do not measure up:
Since the Child Development Center was founded at Zion in the '70s, it has been an important part of the church's ministry in the city of Ferguson. We take great pride in readying our students for elementary school in the local school district, as well as providing them a nurturing environment to grow and learn.
Over the last four decades, our preschool has endured economic hardships, but has always remained to serve our community. We currently have more than 70 children enrolled, with more expected during the summer months.
Now we need to ask for your help.
The playground we hope to build will cost approximately $70,000. This includes a discount from the vendor for educational institutions. We will be able to save money during installation by using volunteer help.

A representative from the playground vendor has worked closely with us to help design a facility that will suit our needs:
The upper right structure in the render will serve our youngest students, while the larger structure will accomodate our older students, as well as students in our after-school program.
Over the last few years, our students have witnessed some of the worst ugliness and hate the world has to offer. With this campaign, we hope to show them another side of our community, one of compassion and generosity.
