Zhenni's "The LAST SOIREE"
Donation protected
I am proposing a multi-genre performing arts series "The LAST SOIREE" centered around classical music based on the 19th century salon.
For many years, human beings have fantasized about inventing a machine by which to travel through time. Well, here is the next best thing: step through the door and into an authentic 19th century chamber music experience, an informal gathering held in private homes to celebrate the music of Franz Schubert and his contemporaries, as well as other art forms.
This is more than just a house concert series; I will take you back in time. No modern technology allowed; cell phones and tablets must be checked at the door. Cuisine, aperitifs and beverages are of course historically accurate and informed. In addition, a dress code appropriate to a historic gathering will be encouraged to create an excitingly unconventional atmosphere.
In observance of the custom of the time, these events will not be limited to music. Readings from poetry and plays, dancing, and paintings are all fair game for an audience to experience.
This is more than a concert, more than a lecture, more than a meal; it’s a fully immersive experience that will leave attendees feeling as though they have visited another era.
Our debut Premiére edition will take place in New York this spring on May 5th, 2018 at 7pm. Come and have a good time - amazing music, literature, dance, historic ambience and wine! Please support to make this happen and be part of this unique project - you'll experience "the very last soirée"!
