I Would like to share a story with the world
My son Reginald Zayden Ray Flores AKA Zayden Was diagnosed with ATRT and Hydrocephalus.
ATRT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor) This is a rare and fast-growing cancerous tumor of the brain and spinal cord, it occurs in children mainly 3 years and younger and can appear in adults and older children as well, in united states 3 out of 1,000,000 are diagnosed a year, so 30 cases of ATRT yearly.My son Has These Rare Tumors His case is a little different and rare, These Tumors are usually Found in the Brain n sometimes in the spinal cord , Zaydens are only in his spinal cord and this Cancer spread through his spinal cord he has 30 or more Tumors.There is cases like his but only in Germany His treatment is from St. Jude who got it from all the way from Germany. These Tumors have caused Hydrocephalus, Which is water in the brain, He has Had 4 Surgeries; one to drain the fluids, 2nd was to put a Ommaya reservoir &ventriculoperitoneal shunt, 3rd was for a Biopsy to get a pathology of these Tumors, 4th Was to put in central lines for chemotherapy & a Gtube so that he can get the nutrition he needs... He was diagnosed November 26, 2018
The survival rate is 10-60%. We pray for a Maricle every single day, we have prayers all over the world. He is Turning Two years old Today December 12, 2018. I have a message for all the parents Hug &Kiss&Show your babies Love as much as you can, My son was a very happy adventures Little boys who loved watching SpongeBob, paw patrol, Music, Video Games, Playing outside,Playing with all his toys,Eating alot, and loved animals completely he was full of life, He still is, But we never thought that this would happen to Him, This can happen to anybody, He is a strong Boy And still smiles through it all! He has already started his chemotherapy treatments.
Tomarrow is never promised so Show Love to all the close Love ones you have. This has been a hard time for my family and I. Especially around the holidays. I wanted to share his story
