Zaxtor99's Mission To Stop The Hurt

Tax deductible
The National Domestic Violence Hotline took its first phone call on February 21, 1996, more than twenty years ago.

On August 2, 2003, the hotline took its one-millionth call.  That caller was a battered woman desperately seeking a safe shelter after her local hotline told her all her nearby shelters were "full".  On this call, an advocate for the National Domestic Violence Hotline helped her find a safe place to stay.

The two-millionth call was recieved on October 21, 2008.

January 29, 2013 was the date they their three-millionth call was taken, and the four-millionth call was taken on June 22, 2016.

It took more than seven and a half years to take their first million phone calls, but the last million calls was taken in less than two and a half years.  This shows that more people than ever are reaching out to get help, to speak to someone about getting battered, raped, violently abused or just looking for answers or maybe a kind, caring person to talk to.

My goal is help support The National Domestic Violence Hotline support those who make that phone call.  The employees who take these calls are obviously candles in the dark who help light the way for all those who call for help. They offer 24/7/365 phone support and live chat support from 8am to 3am 7 days a week as well.

If you are in a domestic violence situation in the USA, Please reach out to them by calling 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) no matter what time of the day is it, or what day it is.  They are there to listen to you and to help you!  Every call is completely confidential.

A donation of $20 covers the cost of an average phone call to the hotline, and that phone call could mean the difference between life and death for that caller.

To help cover these costs and help provide those in dire need of help in domestic violence situations, I am raising funds via this GoFundMe page.  I will be livestreaming video games on my YouTube channel "Zaxtor99" in six monthly seperate 24 hour long streaming sessions encouraging people to help me help this hotline to help those in need.  The first livestreaming even starts at 2pm EST on April 21, 2017 and five additional 24-hour long livestream charity events for the National Domestic Violence Hotline will take place each month afterwards through September of 2017.

My goal is help raise awareness overall with these monthly livestreams, to help people understand that if they are in these domestic violence sitiations, it's not their fault, and it's okay to call someone and talk about it.  Donation goals are set at $1,000 each month, however realize that by donation on the National Domestic Violence website itself, more of your donation will go to them as the GoFundMe site here takes a small cut of each donation.

My main goal with their livestreams is to reach out, let people know that domestic violence should NOT be tolerated, hidden under the rug, or accepted and that there IS confidential help available.  It's not about money, but monetary donations obviously help support the website and their cause.
