Help Zaira Bring Said Home

On June 13th Said Serrato was assassinated in his home town of Querataro, Mexico. Zaira and her mother, Maria, need our help to bring Said home and to bury him here.  Zaira is leaving Tucson to claim her brother's body in Mexico.

Zaira's urgent voice and unrelenting advocacy over the years has been for others' loved ones. On the 12th of June, Zaira organized and introduced a coalition to fight the systemic separation of families, the detention of children and the criminalization of all immigrants. The same night, her brother was assassinated as a result of the same immigration policies that Zaira works so hard to abolish for all people. And now Zaira's family is the family that needs us to fight back. In her own brother's memory, and they are the family we need to support. 

We need to bring Said back. For Zaira, her family and her loved ones.

He is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Ali and Zaima.

Normally I wouldn't be open to sharing such personal grief, I think this time an exception has to be made.  I woke up to a call from my wailing mother with news that my brother had been killed. My brother was shot and killed in the streets of our hometown Queretaro early this morning.
He was assassinated. He was deported some years back by the Obama administration. His name was Said Serrato. He was just 12 months younger than I.  Please share his name. Say his name loudly on Thursday. Please take my rage, my loss, and my grief directly to the streets in my stead.
