Remembering Larry

Donation protected
Larry San Nicolas, beloved Husband, Father, Papa (Grandfather), Brother, Friend and a just lifelong giver of genuine love to others, was taken from us on July 1st in a senseless act of force by officers who were supposed to be there to help.  My Mom, Brother, Sister-In-Law, nephews, nieces all witnessed Larry (who was definitely not himself due to some type of medical anomaly) get shot in our driveway with multiple AR-15 rounds being expended. We are devastated, but so grateful for the time that we have been blessed to have spent with him.

Anyone who had the honor of knowing him, knew that he didn't always have much to give later in life except his love, food and most valuable gift, time. He understood that nothing can make someone's day better than having a great conversation with them, asking them how they are doing and making sure they were fed. He would show up whenever, wherever you needed him. He would help you fix whatever issue you had (even if it took a few times) as he was our jack-of-all-trades. When he was done he would make you dinner and talk stories with you.

We've had countless amounts of people in our lives that became a part of our family. Our door was always open to those who needed a place to stay or guidance or just someone to talk to. Larry was always the one outside who would be there to do so. We had so many people that came through our home that needed a place to stay, and Larry would take them in no matter the circumstance and help guide them.

He had a tough go these last 10-plus years with being disabled and unable to work. This combined with his diabetes wasn't the best situation, but he did his best not to show pain and enjoy life. Unfortunately, a savings is nonexistent as our parents lived off of a fixed income. My father was prideful and didn't want to take anything from us because they were making it work so he didn't want to cause burden on his kids who have kids. He didn't want anything, except to see his family happy and comfortable.

It is hard to ask for help, and we wouldn't if we didn't need it. But my mother is going to need all the support she can get as she is also disabled and does not want to stay in the house anymore after witnessing what happened to her husband in our front driveway. Our surviving family is going to need all the support we can get.

Regardless, if you can't help us financially, we welcome your love, support, prayers, and memories.

Thank you all so much for your support during this time of tragedy. The funds will be withdrawn into my account because mom can’t figure this out   and the  subsequently deposited into my moms bank and used to take care of bills and living expenses due to loss of benefits and support from Larry’s disability income.
