The Cartonia family was a victim of a 3 alarm fire early this morning. Everyone was able to get out safely but unfortunately they have lost everything. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Any donations would truly be a blessing.

Buffalo City Mission picked up all the rest of the donated clothes. Thank you everyone for your support & paying it forward to those in need! I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, blessed New Year!

I just wanted to let everyone know that all the clothing that the Cartonia family weren't able to use will be donated to the Buffalo City Mission who will then send it over to the Cornerstone Manor for all the Mothers and children there.

Buffalo City Mission’s Cornerstone Manor sits at the corner of North and Michigan. The spacious building provides emergency shelter for up to 16 single women and 5 families seeking protection from city streets or an abusive relationship. Up to 12 families and 46 single women can find hope and healing in the facility’s two-year resident recovery program.

On each of Cornerstone Manor’s three floors, homeless women and children find airy rooms for Bible study, adult and childhood education, life skills courses and recreation. There’s even a kitchen for cooking and nutrition classes! A courtyard, complete with basketball court and gazebo, allows residents to rest and play away from the busy street.

Cornerstone Manor Women and Children’s Shelter is a welcome relief from the uncertainties and fear homeless women and families face. For many, it’s the closest thing to home.

I am happy to say these clothes will be used by the women and children living there.

It has been a while since I last updated. Seen the Cartonia family over the weekend. With everything that has happened they seem to be doing well. There hasn't been a day that has gone by where they weren't surrounded by friends and family. They are always busy from sun up to sun down doing something.
They are hoping to be in a house for Christmas and are working on that now. Kids started back to school last week.
Thank you all for your generosity and God Bless.

No one could've said it better than this. Everything lost was just material, the most important thing was and is family.

To our wonderful support system... If you are reading this, this means YOU! Our family, friends, community and even complete strangers has made ALL the difference in these last few weeks for our family. I still can't believe this all has happened. Our lives have been so very different since 5 am November 30. As heartbreaking and horrifying as it all is, the love and support from each and every one of you is felt. It truly is! The amount of donations of every kind has been MONUMENTOUS and we cannot possibly thank you all enough. Seeing the updates on this page takes my breath away. Literally. And ALL the wonderful clothing, toiletries and food has been so so helpful. Please, PLEASE know how very grateful we are for everything. The love, the prayers and the financial support is truly overwhelming and words cannot express how much it means to us all. To update everyone, the hotel has been great to us (the kids like the hot tub haha) and we are looking to get into a rental property in the next week or two. We are rebuilding our home right on our lot and we hope to be back there by the end of 2016. We will be renting furniture when we get a place and our insurance is covering new furniture for our new home when that time comes. The district has been terrific in working out logistics for the kids. For now the school bus comes where we need them to (hotel for now, rental when we get there). Our immediate needs have been met and we are ready to get to the next chapter in this ordeal. Again, THANK YOU everyone. You have not let us falter or fall and this family is so appreciative of that. I can't bear the thought of where we would be without all this love and support. From John, Samanntha, Violet, Zoe and John Jr., Merry Christmas to each and every one of you and your loved ones. ❤️
