Help María Hear this Christmas

Donation protected

María “Lupita” Nino is a hard-working freshman at Hampshire High School who is deaf. When Lupita lived in Mexico, she had cochlear implant surgery. She moved to a different city and was unable to get the external computer processor that will allow her to hear. Following the loss of her mother this spring, she moved to the Aurora area with her father and little sister. She is learning English and sign language at an incredible pace in the NIA program but she is so sad that she cannot hear. When Lupita receives her processor and it is activated, she should be able to hear sounds which will assist her in learning even more language than she is now!  This device costs anywhere from$9,000-$12,000, and without medical insurance other than Medicaid, her family is unable to help her.  We here at Hampshire High School have been fundraising to help her, and we welcome any contribution.   Our goal is for Lupita to enjoy Chrismas music with the rest of us this season.  Please donate here to help if you can.
