Basic equipment for the COVID 19 response - Africa

Currently more than 3.5 million people have been affected by COVID19, 248 thousand have lost their lives. In Africa, 53 countries have declared  cases, totaling 42'713, and 1754 have lost their lives. The pandemic is in its initial phase, and we still have a chance to implement aggressive preventive measures to save as many lives as possible - our health systems are too fragile to absorb large numbers of severe COVID19 cases.

In the last 2 weeks, we have been engaging with community health workers and youth to conduct screening for fever and respiratory symptoms. Our activities have been hampered by the lack of thermometers, masks, and pulse oximeters. We are therefore fundraising to better equip our CHWs and youth to fight COVID19.
