Yoga Synergy Scholarship for Mangesh Khopkar

Please donate and help the wonderful Mangesh Khophar fulfil his dream to attend an internationally certified teacher training with Yoga Synergy in February 2019.
Mangesh is an inspiring yoga teacher to the children of his village in Maharashtra (India). Yoga Synergy have kindly offered Mangesh a full tuition scholarship worth USD$2800 (AUD$3900 / GBP£2230).
We are raising funds to cover his travel, food and accommodation.
Any donation (large or small) will be very much appreciated.
Our goal is USD $2000.

Any additional monies raised beyond the travel and accommodation expenses will be donated to the Yoga Shala where Mangesh teaches children from his village.
About Mangesh:
Mangesh Khophar is a bright young yoga teacher from the rural village of Khed in Maharashtra (India). He trains pupils to compete in the National Yoga Championships. During the day, Mangesh works conscientiously as an English teacher and, in the evenings, offers Yoga classes that meet the Government’s Sports and Recreation Guidelines. His enthusiastic students (aged 5 to 18 years) attend his yoga classes five days a week after school, from 4pm to 8pm each evening.
To date, Mangesh has not received any formal training in yoga. He is a completely self-taught enthusiast who offers his passion to the children of his village in the hope of improving the opportunities available to them in the future. The work Mangesh is doing with his yoga students is truly inspiring. Each student has their own routine and he gives them a lot of personal time and instruction. We’ve never seen children so focused and dedicated in a yoga class, and his classes go for 4 hours!
About the Haṭhābhyāsapaddhati:
Mangesh and his students kindly assisted in reconstructing the most extreme and physically demanding āsanas of the 18th century text called the Haṭhābhyāsapaddhati for a forthcoming open-access documentary film. In particular, his students had the necessary strength, flexibility and dexterity to perform the rope section of the text, which includes ten dynamic yoga āsanas practised using a rope.
When we asked how we might assist Mangesh in his efforts to teach yoga to his community, he said he wanted to attend a 200-hour YA international teacher training programme. He believes that whatever he learns from such a training will benefit all the children who attend his classes (now and in the future). Mangesh is hoping to learn more about safety, anatomy and physiology and therapy - which Yoga Synergy will provide.

Together, Simon and Bianca have developed a well respected, practical training course with integrity and depth, which combines the wisdom of an eastern practice with the best of western physiotherapy. They have been training teachers for over 25 years.
Yoga Synergy have kindly offered Mangesh a full tuition scholarship on their upcoming international training to be held in Goa, February - March, 2019. This training includes access to both of Yoga Synergy's online courses: Advanced Yoga Fundamentals and Applied Anatomy & Physiology.
The Goal:
Your donation will be used to cover expenses outside of the training, which include:
• An accommodation & food package at The Mandala Resort, Mandrem, Goa (for 28 days inclusive)
• Transport from Pune to Goa via train (return)
• Minor expenses for off days (4 days in total)
• Any additional funds raised beyond these expenses will be donated to the Yoga Shala where Mangesh teaches the children and used for equipment.
Our goal is USD $2000.
