Walking to Washington

Hello All! 

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Pamela Sutton and I'm a Head Start instructional Assistant at Mcferran Elementary School. After a health scare of being diagnosed pre-diabetic by my physician I quickly made a lifestyle change, to become a better and healthier me! I begin eating healthy, biking and most of all... WALKING.  I also incorporated my fitness into the classroom creating a walking program ( The Mcferran Headstart One Mile Walkers) with my students to combat childhood obesity, so that they too could make healthy eating choices and make working out a habit at an early age!  My hard work and dedication has landed me an opportunity to go to Washington DC to participate in The America Walks National Walking Summit.

I'm lookingforward to being surrounded by others from around the country who are just as passionate about health and wellness, and walking as much as I am. I'm the only candidate from Louisville, KY and I look forward to representing the city of Louisville, JCPS, and The Mcferran Headstart One Mile Walkers Club! 


`The summit is a month away, any help with travel expenses would be immensely appreciated!
