Donation protected
On September 27, 2015 the Millikin University community lost a great man, Dr. William Bodamer.
Dr. Bodamer dedicated many of his years to Millikin, either through his involvement in the campus ministry, his role as an educator, or his role in launching a soccer program nearly 30 years ago.
I am reaching out to you, the Millikin soccer community, to assist in fundraising for the program Dr. Bodamer cared so dearly about.
If not for Dr. Bodamer, many of us wouldn't have been able to experience the joys - and pains - of representing our great university on the soccer field.
It's hard to imagine where my life would be had he not cared enough to push for a program at a small private university where the smell of soy and rows of corn were more prominent than soccer fields. I can say, without a hint of hesitation, that my closest friends are the men and women that I met while playing soccer for the Big Blue. I would imagine the experience of playing soccer at Millikin significantly impacted each of you as well.
I'm not asking for much, but I am challenging each of you to dig deep and match my $100 contribution. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of Millikin's Homecoming and they are attempting to raise $100,000 via 1,000 gifts of $100 each. I would love to give one large donation in Dr. Bodamer's name.
If you'd like, you can pledge $100 through this GoFundMe and I will make one lump sum donation to the Millikin Soccer Programs in the name of Dr. Bodamer. If you would rather donate directly to the school, or have already donated, THANK YOU! If you have not, PLEASE consider doing so.
Now is the time to rally together and prove that Millikin Soccer is a family that sticks together. Please share this with any of all of the former teammates, coaches, families and friends that came into your life through Millikin soccer.
