Help our family

I was very hesitant to start a campaign like this bc I am not the type of person to ask for help. But so many of our friends and family and Love Larchmont have reached out to offer help in this devastating time and have suggested this fund. I have realized that I need to put my pride aside while I figure out what is the next step for our family.  As many of you know, I lost my business to a fire on Sunday . I am not a wealthy person and this was not just a job. This is a business and career I built for over 14 years.  So many people have reached out offering  help and words of kindness.  It is deeply appreciated!  We do have insurance but most of our insurance as business owners is liability. This means, our concern is that if someone should fall or get injured on our property, they would sue us.  In the event of a catastrophe like this, the most we can hope for is to recover the money for the cost of the goods. I will not be able to recover the loss of income. Our suit could take anywhere from 3 months to 3 years and the insurance companies do everything they can to pay you as little as possible. As most of you know I have a newborn baby and I literally lost my income overnight.  My business was finally in a position that I was able to work mostly from home and stay with Sawyer. I have hopes that we will be able to reopen,  but I am not sure we will be able to until we find out how long the building will be under construction, which could be months to years. I appreciate the enthusiasm that we should open in another vacant space in town but the logistics are not so simple. We order our goods 6 months in advance and there is no way we could piece a store together quickly. I also cannot financially afford to open another store at this time. My hope in this campaign is that no one will feel obligated and only give if they indeed can and help our family through this difficult time. I currently have no income and the money will be used to pay bills until we are able to get back on our feet. I thank you for your support in advance whether it be words of kindness or a financial donation.
