Additional Information Requested by GoFundMe:
1. I , Sandy Henriquez, am a relative of the Barranco/ Velasco/Alarcon family. I was fortunate enough to have our Dear Angel as a Brother-in-Law.
2. I am from Los Angeles, CA
3. My goal is to help raise funds for the
Barranco/Velasco/Alarcon Family to help them cover expenses incurred during this difficult time.
4. The funds will be spent on Funeral and Memorial costs for our beloved Angel Barranco and his unborn daughter. He was an amazing individual and we will do all in our power to make sure they both have a proper burial. A portion of the funds will also be spent on Medical costs incurred during this tragic time.
Angel, having been the sole breadwinner at the time of this tragedy, any remaining funds, may be used towards cost of living for Barbara and her two children while she recovers both physically & emotionally and has secured a job to provide for her family, now as a single mother.
5. The funds will be dispersed to Barbara Barranco, Wife of Angel Barranco upon being released from the Hospital. She then will plan the Funeral and Memorial with the remainder of the Barranco family members.
Again, THANK YOU so much for all the support these recent days. We truly appreciate your generous donations and kind messages.
On behalf of all Barranco, Velasco and Alarcon Family.
Barbara is on the road to recovery and fortunately has made considerable progress. In fact, we were told that she may even be discharged from the hospital as soon as tomorrow.
Upon release, she and the rest of the Barranco Family will begin the process of planning the memorial. We are eager to reunite her with her two children and support her as best we can during the difficult days that lie ahead in her road to recovery.
As soon as memorial date/time is set, we will post all details, so you can join us in remembering and honoring a special soul, our beloved Angel Barranco, and his unborn baby girl.
We ask that you please continue sharing our story to spread awareness and shed light on the types of victims of these senseless crimes. We have lost an amazing soul and lost the opportunity to meet another, simply because a man decided to get behind a wheel of a car while intoxicated.
Alexander Delapaz Perez, had his first court appearance this week and there is where we learned firsthand how flawed our criminal justice system truly is. We were shocked to hear, that he was offered bail initially at $15,000 and finally at $50,000.
It is outrageous to us that a man who now has three DUI’S, who drove without a license or insurance, who has killed two people, is still offered bail. Not only may he very well be a flight risk, but clearly a danger to society. At the very least, a much higher bail amount should have been set.
We are fighting for justice and we will not rest until justice is served. We will also continue the fight outside the courtroom and reach out to congressman to voice our outrage and express our concerns with the justice system. We urge you to join us!
It is evident that DUI laws need to be re-evaluated and more stringent laws need to be put in place to severely reprimand second and third time DUI Offenders. We will not rest until our voices are heard and laws are changed.
We are receiving support daily and are hopeful that we will meet our goal, to help the family cover all upcoming expenses. We hope that the support continues in these upcoming days.
