Send a Princess to Magic Kingdom
Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess named Paige. Although she was just as lovely in her heart as she was to look at, and was surrounded by loving and loyal subjects, she had never been to the Magic Kingdom! Let's add another chapter to this story and give her a fairytale surprise.
Paige is a newly minted 5 year old who is sweet, sassy and smart. She was born with a congenital condition called arthrogryposis, which severely limits her joint range of motion in her upper and lower extremities. She uses a walker to ambulate, a special feeding device to feed herself independently, and is dependent on others for much of her self care. In spite of this, she's learned to capitalize on her strengths and to watch her use her body to compensate for ROM deficits would completely amaze and astound you! She has been through several surgeries to correct her body structures, including the one she is currently recovering from-to her ankle. There were some complications and difficulty closing up the area operated on. This has resulted in a long, weary hospital stay for her family and unfortunately a painful recovery (physically and to her spirit at times). Make no mistake--Paige is one TOUGH cookie. And she is in very good care. But it remains day to day for this family--with no certainty that they'll be home for Christmas. Last year my family was surprised with the incredible gift of a dream trip to Disney. I can think of no better family to pay it forward with than the Johnson's. Will you please help make this little Princess's dream come true?
