Hello all!
Some of you know me as Goddess Vienna, Professional Domina/fetishist of Las Vegas, while some of you know me as Christina, PhD student and sex industry researcher. Both are me, both integral to who I am and who I am becomming. In any case, whomever you know me as, you probably know that I am a woman who goes after what she wants, and what I want now is to present my findings and work in March 2016 at the American Association of Georgraphers Conference in San Francisco (see link: http://www.aag.org/cs/events/event_detail?eventId=1022) and at the third ISA Forum of Sociology in July 2016 in Vienna, Austria. (see link: http://www.isa-sociology.org/forum-2016/). My work has been accepted to both, and now I just need to get the funds to get there.
Making it to these conferences is important to me for several reasons; first and foremost being that I can share my work (on legal brothels, sexual commerce, experiences of both workers and clients) around the world, networking and sharing information with other sociologists and prostitution scholars. These are also wonderful oppurtunities to help advance my very early career as a third year PhD student.
I want to share incentives, but I honestly don't know what to offer in return except my gratitude. If there is more, let me know. I did this once last year and it went wonderfully, I love to create photo albums of the trips and share them afterwards :)
I am asking for a goal of 2300, approximating that the two trips will cost a total of roughly $3500. The Uni has granted me 800 towards one trip, and MIGHT be able to grant another 450 (their yearly limit is $1250) in travel funds. So that leaves me with $2250 to go. Tack on some fees (probably way more than I estimate), and here we are at a goal of 2300. I doubt I will get close to it, but every bit helps!
Please help me continue to travel, pursue my studies, and share my work with others.
