Michelle Broussard has endured lots of heartbreaking events, literally and figuratively. We offered support as she lost her husband, then as fire damages her home. As she continued to heal, she then suffered a heart attack followed by one hospital admission after another due to damage sustained during the heart attack. She is employed and has medical insurance, however her employer does not offer benefits so if she does not work, she does not get paid. She has missed a great deal of work because she has been in the hospital. All these events have created a financial strain and though she hoped to be able to swing all expenses on her own, the upcoming valve replacement surgery coupled with the recent (and current) hospitalizations as well as lost wages are presenting greater challenges than she expected. Once she has the valve replacement surgery, she will be unable to drive until cleared by her cardiovascular surgeon, yet she will have to participate in cardiac rehab prior to that release to drive. Funds donated to her will be for her medical expenses (out of pocket portion of previous and current admissions as well as valve surgery), rehab out of pocket expenses, lost wages that take care of household expenses, Uber transport to/from rehab. She remains positive and continues to face life on life's terms with grace and hope. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. No amount is insignificant.
