Animal Shelter Services
Tax deductible
What would you do if your pet went missing? Wouldn't you like the comfort of knowing that they were waiting for you at a beautiful place surrounded by animal lovers until you can get to them?
Do you feel sad for animals without a loving home on the streets to fend for themselves? Help us, help them find a family that will give them the life they deserve!
West Place is growing and we need your help!
We have just expanded our mission to help local lost or stray dogs and cats. A building at West Place which was a “garage/storage/workshop” has to be completely renovated to provide housing for these animals who need to get back to their family or need a new family.
Any donation is greatly appreciated! All donations are tax-deductible.

About West Place Animal Sanctuary-
In 2003, the future founder of West Place, Wendy Taylor suffered a devastating loss in which 9 of her beloved pets, a Doberman named Dobie, a Black Lab named Jake, her cats Alec, Mulder, Tweak, Maizey, Bailey, Stewart, and a goat named Mo (who was rehabbing in her home after a major surgery), perished in a house fire.
Wendy needed to find a way to right this horrible wrong and to help other animals by giving back. After rebuilding her home, she desired to create a safe-haven for animals and she trained to become a wildlife rehabilitator, and by sub-permitting through the RI Department of Environmental Management.
In 2007 she turned her property into West Place Animal Sanctuary, a 501©(3) non-profit organization. The sanctuary provides housing, food and medical care for injured and orphaned wild waterfowl and wild game birds as well as farm animals and elderly horses that are victims of cruelty and neglect, furnishing both short-term and long-term care.
