On May 1st, 2019, Dustin Johnson will be leaving to become the first American to ever Cirucmnavigate the globe running. He will also become the youngest in the world, the first American solo (no team), and the fastest solo, among others. He will start in Benton, Mo and run to Myrtle Beach, SC. From there, he will fly to Peru and run to Argentina. After that, a flight to Lisbon, Portugal and run to Istanbul, Turkey. Finishing that leg of the race, he will fly to Perth, Australia and run to Sydney. A quick flight to New Zealand where he will run the length of the country and then fly back to Anchorage, Alaska and run back to Benton, Missouri where he started.
His epic journey will take apox. 600 days. He will average 35 miles a day durin this trip with 85 “off days” scheduled.
There have been several petiole from all round the world to compete this run but never an American. Dustin wants nothing more than to complete this for his country and to promote his message. Dustin will be running this to promote depression and anxiety among veterans. #22 a day is something that really hits home for him.
This jounrey is dangerous. Most nights sleep beside the roads camping out. All good and water pushed in a cart. If anything were to happen to him he would be far from cities at times. Other times, the cities could pose the biggest risk. Dustin will be at will to nature, animals, people, and anything else that decides to come across his path.
