On the Horizon

Tax deductible
Imagine…

an installation of 16 acrylic cylinders filled with seawater standing at the edge of the ocean. As you walk among these 6-foot tubes, you're moved by the beauty of this suspended watery landscape.

As the sun sets, the columns light up from below.  Your sense of wonder is replaced by a growing understanding of the artist’s intention as waves break progressively higher on the beach--a reminder that just as the tides ebb and flow each day, sea levels are also rising.

The Experience

On the evening of the summer solstice, June 20, 2021, Ana Teresa Fernandez will unveil On the Horizon at San Francisco’s Ocean Beach.

Designed to inspire action to halt climate change, On the Horizon is a reminder of what we--locally, nationally, and globally--stand to lose.

Why Art?

"Art changes people and people change the world." ~John Butler

Behavioral psychology tells us that for the vast majority of us our emotions drive our actions. And studies have shown that art has the power to move us more effectively than scary news,  foreboding reports, or mind-blowing statistics.

Together, Let's Change the World

Sea levels are rising even faster than previously thought. The impact of that reality will be profound--economically and socially--for generations to come.

Unless we act.

Your donation, no matter the size, gets us closer to bringing  On the Horizon to life so we can reach more people, move hearts, spur action, and transform the future.

Give now and join us as we work to preserve our planet for all who come after us. There is no Planet B.
