Carl Sorensen Memorial Fund
Carl lost his life at the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Thursday, June 25, 2015, doing what he loved: racing motorcycles.
Carl was a passionate racer, board member and friend to the entire MRA family. His dedication to the club was unmatched and he has left a hole in the hearts of the entire motorcycle road racing community.
Carl had been road racing for 8 years and had participated in the PPIHC on 2 previous occasions, coming in 10th in the Open category in 2014. He had won multiple championships in the MRA and was consistently a top rider, no matter the bike or class he was racing.
As passionate as he was about racing, he was even more so about his wife, Lacy, his dogs, Baron and Maggie, and his entire race family, including his brother Chris, MRA Track Marshall, Chris' wife Maria, and his son Page.
Carl was the shining, yet serious face that MRA racers would see to tech their bikes each weekend, and it was his exacting standards that helped keep MRA race weekends safe for all riders. His dedication to the club and his fellow racers was obvious by his passion for the rules and safety of all riders.

Sometimes we do things, others do not understand. Sometimes we do things, others fear. Sometimes we do things, others say we are incapable of doing. Sometimes we do things, because we want to understand our unique strengths. Sometimes we do things, in order to overcome our own fear. Sometimes we do things, to prove it is possible to accomplish that, which others say we cannot. Find your strength, overcome your fear, and become an example of greatness. Godspeed, brother...
So terribly sorry for your loss!
