Save the Date Cafe is East London’s finest waste food cafe serving food which has been intercepted from landfill served up as delicious, exciting dishes.
Founded in 2014 we are situated in the Bee Garden on Abbott Street in Dalston as a tenant of the Bootstrap Company.
All food is sold on a pay-as-you-feel basis and everyone is welcome in the space. The cafe is a community initiative which allows everyone to eat great food in a friendly, fun environment regardless of budget. We believe that everyone should be able to go out and eat great food!
40% of food produced in the UK is wasted and we think this is wrong. So come support London’s member of The Real Junk Food Project in our work to combat the problem!
We are Save the Date, the only waste food café in London and we have 30 days to raise £7000 to save our café from winter time.
What is waste food?
We cook with food that we get donated from restaurants, traders and individuals. When we say waste food, we don't food that comes out of the bin, but that is a result of overproduction. 60% of all food in the UK is wasted and never reaches a plate.
What we do
With our café Save the Date we want to raise awareness for this issue by cooking delicious meals, that we give out on a pay as you feel basis. Everyone can come here, we are open to families or homeless people, and everyone pays what they feel the food is worth it. It doesn't all has to be around money, our guests can also simply do the dishes.
How your money will help
We are currently an open space and we urgentlyneed to become winter proof. We want to build a roof and 4 walls for our café to be able to remain open during winter time. We also want to invest in our equipment, to get up to industry standard.
We need minimum £7000, to get going, the money we can raise, the better quality everything will become.

£500- All of the above plus we'll cater a private event for upto 15 people (within 30mile radius of london)
