The James "Doc Terror" Harris Fund

This is a campaign to help out a great guy. James Harris, known to many as Doc Terror on his blog Doc Terror.com, was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a very rare form usually only found in children, in mid December 2015. Since then he has been through surgery, multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and soon, radiation.

James, the incomparable horror aficionado, is a proud father of 3 beautiful girls, and adores his wife Nicole. You should see their Facebook statuses to each other. They're as cute as a high school couple and have a love we all strive for. We can all imagine what kind of strain a situation like this can cause a family to go through, and I was hoping we can all find it in our hearts to give a little something to take away some of the stress. It's terrible to see anyone go through this, but it's even worse when it's someone beloved by so many, for doing so much for others.

Please, do what you can, but if you can't help financially, sharing this campaign to your Facebook or Twitter helps just as much.

Thank you!

To everyone who has helped out in any way, from sharing to donating to encouraging me or helping out with our family, with food or rides or babysitting or braving the hospital or hugging the Hell out of me... I thank you. I sincerely love you for showing my family love and I will reach out to every one of you shortly. I did not realize I could comment here until just now. ;)

Thank you everyone who has contributed and continues to contribute since April. You have helped us in ways you couldn't even imagine. Here we are now. One year later. I still have trouble believing that. Some days it feels like nothing and some days it feels like everything. I'm pretty sure Jimmy is being nominated for Sainthood in 2017. The pope hasn't returned my phone calls but... Come tomorrow, jimmy will be staring a new chemo regime. About a month ago, he had his PET Scan which showed no shrinkage and thankfully no growth. This means we believe the tumors have built a resistance against that chemo. Which was explained to us at the beginning of this thing, so it's not a shock it's just another hurdle we need to climb. Three weeks ago, my husband was struck down with a mean case of sepsis. That could have taken him right then and there. But no way was my husband going out like that. It was a hard road, and he is still building up his strength but he is almost back to 100%. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers. There is no way we could get thru this without you guys. Thank you for everything! We love each and everyone of you! Fuck Cancer!

The papers below are HIGHLY complex and VERY technical , but maybe show them to your onc guy he should be able to understand them . Maybe the onc guy can make use of the information to help James. Esp have him look at the one that discusses triple blockade of CTLA-4,PD-1 and IDO in gliomas. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4488089/ http://clincancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/clincanres/20/20/5290.full.pdf https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00256-009-0736-4 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3564242/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28364000 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4115731/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15816467 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15568289 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2118163/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4322895/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4761495/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4662416/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2939552/ the article on blocking CTLA-4, PD-1 and IDO was an animal study for glioblastoma , and the other papers involved animals w/ different tumors but many solid tumors share some(many) common immunosubversive strategies. monoclonals work better in a TH1 shifted immune state hence the article below. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14695221 i hope some of this helpful and does not just confuse things. good luck , and prayers for James.

When i started this campaign to help Jimmy and his ladies, i knew the response would be great. What i didn't exist was such a profound turnout of selfless contributions. I can't say enough how much of an inspiration you all are, and i thank you, on behalf of the Harris family, and anyone who battled this disgusting disease. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
