Megan (Zachar) Christ

Dear friends and colleagues of Megan,

We are raising money to support the rehabilitation needs for Megan Christ, namely by a Sleep Number bed and vehicle modifications for independent driving. On July 4, 2015, while Megan and her husband Steven were vacationing in North Carolina, the porch they were standing on to take a Christ family photo collapsed.  After falling 12 feet, Megan suffered a C7 incomplete spinal cord injury, causing paralysis from the chest down.  With Megan's intellect and determination, along with the support of her amazing husband, family, and friends, Megan has made great strides in therapies at the University of Michigan Hospital.  She has discharged and continues outpatient therapies while figuring out how to navigate in the real world with a spinal cord injury. 

Thank you to all that have donated to purchase a Sleep Number bed! Its hospital-grade features will be especially helpful each day.  We are now raising money to fund vehicle modifications to add hand controls and an electronic lift for the wheelchair to allow Megan to drive on her own.  This will greatly increase her independence as she continues to strive toward returning to work at the University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center.  For privacy and legal reasons, please do not post this link on a Facebook wall.  Thank you for your contributions and support of Megan & Steven and the Zachar and Christ families.
