Em's Voluntary Nursing in Sri Lanka

My Name is Emily, I am 20 years old and from Southport. I am in my third year at Edge Hill University currently studying Adult nursing.

I have always wanted to be a nurse since I was young.


I am very passionate about nursing and have had some amazing experiences on placements in the UK but would like to experience health care abroad.

I am fund raising to volunteer at a hospital in Sri Lanka for a month in June 2016, to provide care and treatment to those who are in need in a less fortunate country.

The funds are going to enable me to work voluntary in the General Teaching Hospital in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

This experience will not only help me gain vital experience for my future career and help me live my dream of helping others, but provide much needed hands on experience and share my nursing knowledge I have gained so far in my training.
