First Year Study Abroad

Hi, thanks for checking out my page!
My name is Caitlin Jones and I’m currently a first year Fashion Merchandising and Management student at Philadelphia University. My school offers opportunities to study abroad almost anywhere in the world, and this spring, has planned a trip to visit 4 countries over the span of 20 days.
Though it may be subject to change, the first destination is in southern Spain, visiting Granada, Seville, and Cordoba for the first 5 days. Then from Spain it’s off to study in Florence and the Tuscany region of Italy to experience the influences of great philosophers, artists, authors, and designers like Machiavelli, Bunelleschi, Michelangelo, and Gucci. After spending 5 days in Italy, the next destination is Sarajevo, a majority-Muslim city in Bosnia to explore the old town and recognize the beauty hidden beneath its violent past. And finally, for the last 4 days of the trip, the blue waters of Dubrovnik. Croatia is the last stop before heading home.
Throughout the trip, students from various majors collaborate on projects in different groups. Posts will most likely be made daily to keep up with the movements and projects. At the final destination, the groups use the remaining days to work on a final film project.
The cost includes all of the airfare to and from Philadelphia, all travel in Europe, lodging in hotels, and all local transportation. It also includes museum entrance fees done with the group and tours organized as part of the course.
I’ve always dreamed of travelling abroad but unfortunately have never had the chance to due to the lack of funds. But this trip, even with my main focus being fashion, there’s so much to learn from it. There’s the architecture, religion and overall culture of each place we’d visit. It’s more than the basic tourist attractions but a deeper insight into the cities and communities in Europe. And for all my fellow Game of Thrones fans, they’ve filmed scenes in Dubrovnik, so I don’t know about you but I’d be pretty hype to see that. For me, it’s more than just a course to earn credits. I don’t know if I’d ever have the opportunity again to travel to these different places with professors who want nothing more than to expand our minds and show us places I’ve only ever seen on Google images. Traveling is something so many dream of, and I’d love to make it a reality.
Hopefully you can help in any possible way, but if not, thanks for reading through.
