My dream is to make a documentary film about a man who touched my life when I was a kid.  He was #1 DJ  when I met him in 1961 when I was a mixed up 13 year old.  He was so kind I never forgot it, and we've been friends ever since.  This legendary radio personality has been around since before rock 'n roll began, and believe it or not, he's still doing a live radio show. He is known by everybody in the music business, and has worked with just about every rock star you could name. He introduced the Beatles to American radio. And later, he introduced them in concert at the Hollywood Bowl. He introduced Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, the Rolling Stones, and many more at his sock hops.  He broke many records and first played the Beach Boys' record Surfer Girl when he was at KRLA in Los Angeles.

Now I am dedicating my life to telling this incredible man's story.  Not only because he  is Mr. Rock 'n Roll DJ, but because he was one of the most unique radio personalities of the twentieth century. And because he is one of the most beloved.  He's been called the greatest rock 'n roll DJ in the world.  Dick Biondi is a living legend who's impact on music can be heard in the soundtrack of our lives.  Now in his eighties Dick doesn't want to quit; he says he wants to die with his headphones on.

My story is about what it was like growing up with the voice of the Wild I-Tralian on transistor radios tucked under our pillows.  It's about the many artists Dick nurtured, and the kids who's lives were touched by him. It's also the story of how different radio was and how it was for young wannabes to become recording stars.  Many of the Chicago cornerstone artists are in my film, and I've had the pleasure of getting to know them and to interview them.  What a journey this has been for me, getting to meet so many of the recording artists I grew up with!

After 3 years of collecting interviews, I'm ready to start assembling my movie. It's exciting! And I hope you'll be part it.  This film is gonna rock!

This next phase  consists of writing the script and editing together a 10-minute "screener" that will be presented to donors to raise money to complete the film.  This means months of post production work with an editing team which includes post production costs and licensing fees.

In this campaign we are hoping to raise at least $15K which will pay for:

• writing & creating a 10 minute Screener

• campaign fees

This film is the culmination of my life's work. It's my dream  and I'm not gonna stop until I get there. So thanks from the bottom of my heart for being part of it.
Love and Gratitude,
Pam

Dick Biondi was the #1 DJ in the U.S. in 1961 and 62. Biondi introduced the Beatles to America in 1963 by playing Please Please Me on his WLS show. After getting fired he went to KRLA in Los Angeles where he continued playing the record . The kids weren't ready, but a year later the Beatles owned America. Help us make a documentary film about this important broadcast icon. We appreciate any size donation.
