THE LAURA DAVIES FUND

Our dear friend and colleague, 21 year old Laura Davies was murdered on the evening of Friday 3 July 2015.

Laura had been a valued member of the team at Essex Horse and Pony Protection Society for some two and a half years. She was dedicated to our rescue animals, and one of the most caring and compassionate people we had the pleasure of knowing and working with.

Laura was such a special person who will be so missed by us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Laura’s family at this very difficult time.

We have received a number of enquiries about a tribute to Laura. We have discussed this with Laura’s parents and they have agreed that it would be fitting to open a fund in her memory, which will be put towards a project in Laura’s name to directly support and benefit the animals that she cared so much about.

Please give generously to Laura's Fund - she would have wanted nothing more than to have something positive come out of this tragedy for her beloved animals.

Laura Davies has been gone now for over 6 months; her death an utter tragedy at the hands of a jealous, deluded and clearly evil psychopath. We can constantly ask ourselves what on earth possessed him to take her life that fateful evening in July but only one person knows the real answer to that. We at Essex Horse and Pony Protection Society want to remember the Laura we all knew and loved, the girl who was so passionate about the animals in her care, the girl who looked forward to the day she took home her future foster pony Jussi, the girl who wanted to do everything 100% correctly, and ultimately the girl who cared too much. Thanks Laura for the laughs when you said and did silly things, the grumpy days when things didn't quite go to plan, the support when saying that last goodbye to a Sanctuary horse crossing rainbow bridge, the achievements such as backing Ozzy and finding him a lovely foster home and most of all creating the memories that will last a lifetime.

"We don't meet people by accident, they are meant to cross our path for a reason"

Your memory will continue to live on at the Sanctuary and we hope you can now finally rest in peace Laura.

Today we paid our respects to a beloved daughter, auntie, sister, friend and colleague. Laura Davies was laid to rest this morning.

A stunning white carriage pulled by two beautiful grey horses with vibrant purple plumes transported her to her final resting place, Oreo and Basil joined the procession for a short distance as a final farewell from the sanctuary horses and ponies and her favourite Jussi called out just as her carriage was disappearing from view. Hundreds of people turned up to pay their final respects and purple balloons were released in her memory.

She will forever be in all of our hearts, the brightest star in the sky, our guardian of heavens gate over rainbow bridge.

We miss you so much

R.I.P special lady

Laura's funeral takes place at 11.30am on Friday, 7 August 2015. Laura's mum has asked that the funeral procession leaves from EHPPS as this is what Laura would have wanted. We will all be there to support Dyanne and her family who want something positive to come from the tragedy of Laura's untimely death.

We miss this special girl so so much, but we are adamant that her memory will live on at EHPPS. Please donate to The Laura Davies Fund today and help do her memory proud.

I just want to commend Laura's family, friends and co-workers for the unfailing dignity they showed in the last few weeks. I hope this donation goes some way to preserving her memory.
