My daughter, Katherine Davenport, has been terribly wronged by Judge Pate in AL and stripped of her parental rights to her precious 4 year old daughter and 6 year old son! Please help us!!
What should have been just another average divorce became any parent's worst nightmare. Katherine, who was married to Andrew Davenport, had been a stay-at-home mother of their two children since the day they were born. Upon filing for divorce almost 2 years ago, the children were immediately ordered to spend one week with their mother and then one week with their father. Their father, Andrew Davenport, was working full time, so instead of being with their stay-at-home mother who had always been there and cared for them, they were with Andrew's family, specifically his mother.
Although letting her children go every other week was extremely hard for Katherine, she did what was expected of her and patiently waited for her divorce to be finalized. All she wanted was to move on so she could provide a happy, stable life for her children.
However, on June 3, 2015, Judge Pate awarded sole custody to Andrew Davenport, the children's father "without cause". This means the judge stripped my daughter, who is and has always been an excellent mother, of her two children for absolutely no reason! She never drank, used drugs, suffered from no mental health issues and in fact she was referred to in court as a "helicopter parent" because she took should excellent care of her children's needs.
Now, Katherine is in the fight of her life, trying desperately to get this verdict overturned and she and I need your help. We are a middle class family with limited resources and unfortunately not much clout being from New Jersey. Meanwhile, Katherine's ex-husband's family are native to Alabama, have connections and substantial resources. The Davenport's have spent over $100,000 on this blatantly unfair decision.
I believe that it is in my grandchildren's best interest to be reunited with their mother before irreparable harm is done to them. Katherine's ex-husband's family despises my daughter and is poisoning these precious children against their mother who has done nothing but love and care for them.
This is a travesty and now the Alabama courts want $5,000 for a copy of the transcript and more money for the appeal. I wish I had the money necessary to fund this on my own, but I've expended all my funds to help her over these past two years.
I beg anyone who is financially able, to please help fund this appeal and right this terrible wrong by contributing today.
