Brian Lee's road to recovery

Donation protected

My name is Cynthe Crawford, and this is my big brother, Brian Lee.  Recently he was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Cancer. That started on his left tonsil and spread into muscles and nerve endings on his left side of his neck and shoulder.  By the time surgery took place, the tumor had grown to 10 cm.   Due to the size and how it had attached to his muscles and nerves, he is unable to eat or drink, due to his lack of muscle in his throat, also the swelling in his throat. What is instinctual is no longer there.  He has a feeding tube inserted into his stomach, to provide nutrients, but he can't drink, anything at this time. Physical therapy should help re-build those muscles, along with working on his left shoulder. As of right now, he is unable to lift his left arm, very high.  He also has a suction machine to eliminate saliva, that is still producing in his mouth. He also, is unable to talk, above a whisper, because they had to scrape his vocal chords, to remove the tumor. They were informed, at his follow-up , his cancer is stage 4. A full recovery without a relapse is 50-60%. So the prognosis is bright.
This picturre was taken by his beautiful and incredibly strong, wife, Michelle. They were high school sweethearts and have been married 29 years, in June. Not only are the husband and wife, but the are best friends and soul mates. This remarkable lady, has stood by his side, held is hand through this all. She helps him in every way possible.   They have one son, Ryan, who is an exact replica of his dad.
Unfortunately, Brian, is in a lot of pain. The battle to beat this beast, is just starting. They were told, that he will have to have radiation treatment for 5 days a weeks for 7 weeks. He also has to have Chemotherapy, but they don't meet with them, until March 31st.
So as you can see, they have a very long journey ahead of them. However, if anyone can defeat this beast, it's Brian. He has an amazingly positive attitude! He has ALWAYS loved a challenge, even when he was young, and he feels that this is the greatest challenge of his life. He can't wait to take this monster down and aradicate it!!  Brian, was their sole provider for income. Originally, they thought it was going to be two weeks, off work.  But when the surgeon opened him up, it was MUCH more than they had planned. So now, medical bills are starting to roll in, and insurance will pay their part, but they have a high deductible and they still have to pay their percentage of the bill. Along with medical bills, they have living expenses. Rent, utilities, gas to drive him back and forth to all his appointments, and food.
I know times are tough for many,  but I'm asking, on behalf of my family, that you can help, by donating, any amount, that is feasible. If anyone knows my big brother, they know he is a strong, stubborn, a hard working man, that has never asked for help. So you must know, that times are extremely hard. However, If you know Brian and Michelle, they would be one of the first people, to jump in and help anyone, that was in need. He's always been tough, from motor cross racing, to breaking Broncos. He has been the rock of this family for a long time, but now, it's our turn to be his. Please PLEASE donate what you can, so they can, stay afloat, during this extremely tough time.
Our entire family knows that God will lay his healing hands on Brian, and that he will beat this, no doubt in our minds. On behalf of Brian, Michelle, Ryan, our parents,  and siblings, THANK YOU!!! Your prayers, positive thoughts and energy, and your generous donations are so greatly appreciated!
