Congestive Heart Failure

Yesterday my best friend was diagnosed with congestive heart failure by the Farmington Veterinary Clinic. We were lucky enough that my aunt and uncle were able to bring him to the appointment. He’s an 8lb toy poodle. We’ve been through a lot together. He even survived a dog fight just last year with only a superficial laceration when I was pregnant. I’ve had him since he was four weeks old. He will be nine years old on November 24th. The x-ray showed fluid in his lungs. So much so that they couldn’t see his heart. They started him on a  diuretic in hopes to reduce the fluid and swelling. The next step would be an echocardiogram. I called around and found that the Portland Vet Specialist is available on Mondays and Thursdays. The consultation with the echocardiogram is $440.00, that’s not including the surgery if he needs one. If you have any information on this matter or are able to donate please let me know. I love him so much. I will be home on October 24th. My birthday is the 27th. I’m being as positive as I can. His life expectancy is 15-20. He’s not even nine yet. Please help if you can.
