Since Lucas was born, he has been in the ICU twice, on a ventilator twice, has had two major surgeries, three blood transfusions, under anesthesia 5 times, has been hospitaled two times over a month straight with additional multiple week stays.
Lucas cannot walk on his own and has very little muscle development. He is sick almost everyday with vomiting and diarrhea. His liver and spleen are getting so big his lungs cannot expand making it hard to breath.
Through all this he remains fearless and happy! A blessing for our family. He is courageous and loving.
Lucas is in desperate need of a new liver, and we are having a very difficult time finding one. Lucas is O- blood type, but he can accept either O- or O+ blood type liver for transplant. He has a UNOS score of 53 which is a significant score but has been waiting on the transplant list for over 1.5 years. He needs a whole liver, and he can accept even an adult in 20's.
Our goal is to find Lucas a new liver. Doctors believe that with a new liver, Lucas will have a long but full recovery. In order to find that liver, we need to raise enough money to gain as much awareness for Lucas and his condition.
Advertising is very expensive: billboards, commercials, radio, news broadcasts etc. Advertising, promoting, and raising awareness is CRUCIAL bexause if another family anywhere in the USA with a terminally ill child/young adult can choose to give their child's liver DIRECTLY to Lucas, but only if they know he exists.
CORE, or the center for organ recovery, suggests that advertising will bring awareness to the importance of an organ donation for Lucas. Putting a pitcure to the cause, let alone a picture, litterally, the size of a billboard, could really make the world of a difference.
Please check out Lucas's Facebook ( https://www.facebook.com/SaveLucasGoeller), as well as his own awareness campagin website ( http://www.savelucasgoeller.com/)
Thank you for your donation,
Love Lucas and the Goeller Family!
I am SO sorry that I have not been good about updating this GoFundMe page. I hope you all follow Lucas' Facebook page for updates! These past few months have been an absolute rollercoaster, and as you know, I have been slacking on updating all of you with Lucas' current condition ...
LUCAS IS HOME!!
As of last night, Lucas left Children's Hospital to finally go home after many months away from his brothers.
Lucas has an extremely long road ahead of him, but his medical team can see that he is happiest at home. Lucas is stable to go home, but that is not without a lot of hard work for his mother and father! Lucas needs constant attention. One cannot even begin to describe the sort of needs this wonderful child requires, but it is all worth it!
Love to you all!!! Even though I have not been good about posting updates here, I will try to become more disciplined on doing so!
Today has been a long day, with ups and downs.
Lucas is out of surgery, he is stable and should be going to the ICU soon. The surgeons were very happy with the donor liver and the transplant surgery went well.
Its still very early and there are a lot of obstacles Lucas has to overcome in the following hours, days, weeks and months. We have to pray to keep infection, rejection and any blood type compatibility issues away.
We want to thank each one of Lucas's followers. Thank you for spreading our plea to a loving donor family. Please continue to keep them in your prayers; their pain is immense with the loss of their little angel.
The surgeon called and it's a "GO"! Lucas will be going down to OR soon.
Our family also just met the family in the room next to Lucas... the same donor is offering a second chance of life to this child, too! Amazing!
Please pray for Luke's surgeons, as it will be a very long, difficult surgery. God give them strength and help them with every decision and every move. Let God's will be done.
Please pray for our donor who is now an angel in heaven, the family, and the little kid next door who will also be going into transplant because of the same donor... Luke's hero.
How do I find out if I am a match? I am O+ and my husband is O- I would do anything to help this baby!!

For all those asking below...Unfortunately, he is unable to accept a partial liver. He needs a full liver. He needs one donated from someone that had passed away. It is definitely heartwarming seeing everyone ask if they could donate. I wish i could. I will say that I'm an organ donor and that is the message that needs to be sent! You all are great!
For all who are wondering about what needs to be done to see if you can donate a liver please click the link... http://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/transplant-center/liver-transplant/choosing-mayo-clinic/expertise-innovation-research/living-donor
How is it going now? Hope that one of the parents is a match. I know what you feelings are. Im a dad of a 4 year old son that had Billi atresia and is transplantated ( mom donate a peace of liver) . If you or your doctors have any questions i can recomment the doctors in UCL St.Luc Hospital in Brussels Belgium (Europe). I wish all the best and pray for you all. ps there is a method to go right true the bloodtype, ask you doctors.
I would get tested yobsee if I was a match! Would love to help out!
If im a match im an approved donor and wouldn't mind donating my liver.
I also am O+........how do i get tested? Can he not have a partial transplant?
I just watched the news feed that he needs a whole liver but why cant a new half liver help? Until one is found? It might give him more time.
I'm O- and happy to be tested as a living donor. Will 1000% help if a match
I am type O+ and would gladly get tested if Lucas can do a partial liver!
I am type O-, with a negative DU factor. Are you sure he needs a whole liver, and can't accept a partial live donor transplant? Because if he can accept the partial, I'd be happy to go through the necessary testing.
Please contact me. I have two boys. I do not have money to donate however I would like to find out if I am a match or if that is possible.
How do you find out if you are a match for the baby?
