On January 23rd my sister, Catherine Manning, was involved in a horrible car accident and had to be air lifted in critical condition to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. She sustained trauma to her brain, a lacerated liver and a broken pelvis. Doctors were not sure she would survive her first night and were bracing us to expect the worst but by the grace of God she has defied all expectations and continues to improve and progress well. She still has a long road ahead and it could take days or weeks before she will wake up. We are very grateful for the wonderful care she has been receiving but of course we expect the medical bills will be very high. To relieve the stress and allow Catherine and Trever to focus solely on her progress, we are asking for your help and compassion. God bless you all and thank you very much for all of the prayers. The Manning and Rocher families are very appreciative.

Today is my beautiful, smart, amazing sister’s 25th birthday. This last year has been full of highs and lows but through it all, the one constant, has been Catherines will to live. Her strength and resilience are a true testament to Gods love and mercy. She has come a long way since that horrible accident but she still has a long way to go. Not many people survive the type of injuries she suffered so there is no doubt that God has a plan for her and we will all be by her side every step of the way. I am including pictures so everyone can see her progress and of course any contribution to her GoFundMe is greatly appreciated. Thank you all!

Just wanted to give an update on Catherine. Today she was moved from Halifax to the Brain Injury Rehab Center at ORMC to start the next phase of her recovery. We will continue to fight to have her stay here as long as possible. One major change was being able to put her in normal clothes and she was happy about that. She continues to do very well and is communicating with us more and more even saying words and sentences. We are so proud of her and pray that God continues to bless her. Thank you all for your continued support!

Just wanted to give another update on my sister Catherine. She is still at Halifax medical center in Daytona beach. Unfortunately she has been unable to regulate the amount of cerebral spinal fluid in her head. This condition is called hydrocephalus and is common for brain injury patients and if left untreated can result in buildup of fluid in her brain and many complications. Today she underwent surgery to have a VP shunt inserted into her brain that will treat her hydrocephalus. This shunt will help drain fluid if it starts to buildup and she could possibly have this for the rest of her life. She is currently in recovery and her neurosurgeon was very happy with the result. Hopefully, following today's procedure she will be ready to go to a neuro rehab center very soon. Her recovery has been long and slow but everyday she gets stronger and stronger. We are so grateful for everyone's support. Catherine still has a long way to go but we are optimistic she will come back to us fully.

Just wanted to give an update on how our beautiful Catherine is doing and I've included some pictures. When Catherine first had her accident on January 23rd a part of her skull was removed to allow her brain to heal and for the swelling to go down and Halifax stored it for future replacement. On Thursday she was given the all clear to have it replaced. The procedure itself is not as dangerous as the recovery but thanks to God and everyone's prayers she has been recovering well. She has some buildup of brain fluid where her skull was replaced but her doctors have been monitoring it and it has very slightly been decreasing. She has also been placed on a forth seizure medication so she is pretty sedated but even with all of that has managed to blow kisses and give a smile to her husband Trever. Her doctors continue to be very optimistic and happy with her recovery but again remind us that she has a long road ahead and patience is key. We continue to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers.

Gofundme site noted by Palm Coast Observer story takes people to several Catherines needing medical help. Likely some wanting to help selected wrong cause. I had to google by last name search in the field at top of page to get here. Paper may wish to run a "correction" with an updated short cut?
