Martha McClure
Hello Everyone,
I want to take a moment to say a HUGE thank-you to each and everyone of you that have donated towards Marthas recovery.
I would also like to take a moment to introduce myself!
I am Krista Osterwyk-McKnight , a very close friend to Martha and her family, growing up babysitting her own 4 boys since the oldest one was an infant! You could also say I was the daughter she never had as well :) Living the summers with her helping out around the daycare and with her family during her busy season of Martha being a huge part in the S.W.Y.R.A, so she not only cares for kids but is a huge part in rodeo for them as well!
The funds that are being collected are being put to good uses in so many categories:
-Counseling
-lost wages, having to pay two employees to keep her daycare open during her healing time
-Medical, a very huge portion of this will be going towards the dr appts and surgery for her eye
-any other expenses that she will be faced with during this time
Thanks again for all the love and support :) I will continue to update everyone as she heals as well!
-Krista
This is Martha McClure the daycare owner that got assaulted by Francis Jackson while protecting the children at her daycare. She is not only a loving, caring and very supportive mother but loves every child that is in her care as one of her own.
Thank you for all you prayers and support. Martha had surgery on her eye Monday Oct. 12th and has a long road of healing ahead of her.
Martha is continuing her recovery everyday and has a follow up appointment this week that I will also give you an update about :)
Her vision is still struggling to track so she is still sleeping elevated due to the fluids around the eye still , she has to take it slow when getting up in the morning and can't just "fly " out of bed or turn her head quickly at any time ! She was excited to finally bend over and be able to pick something up with out have a head rush feeling :) so progress is sure being made :)
On a happy note she is enjoying being back at work everyday with the kids!! My son Cooper was lucky enough to attend her daycare for 8 days this past week because I was in town helping my parents at their hardware store :) it was my sons first time ever in a daycare and he adapted well and had a great time!! I was very thankful for Martha having him !
Thank you all again for the continuous support and thoughts !
I will have another update after the appointment :)

Martha, I do not have the funds to donate to you at the moment, but I would like to tell you how amazing you are. You did not have to endure what you did, yet you put yourself in the possible face of death for another mother's children. You are a hero.
I hope your story goes viral. Too often do we hear of the bad day cares. You are a hero! You did what any mother would do, keep the children safe. God bless you!
As a mother with a young son, you are the type of person I want watching my child. Thank you for being the protector these children needed.
You're on Gawker now. May the donations continue to pour in. http://gawker.com/cops-daycare-operator-took-snow-shovel-to-the-face-in-1736443116?rev=1444828943994&utm_campaign=socialflow_gawker_facebook&utm_source=gawker_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow
These stories never seem to go this way. Usually it ends up with a daycare letting the kid(s) go and the headline is something about missing or murdered children. Martha the wounds and bruises you have now are marks of the warrior you are. You are a credit to your profession and to the human race. Many people would turn to self preservation mode, you extended your mamma bear mode to those kids and that's wonderful!
Hero!! Someone sent this information to the ellen degerinious (spelling) show. This is a true hero.
As a good father you are truly an amazing and courageous lady, thank you for all you do! Prayers for a quick recovery!
Hi Martha! My name is nicole. I dont have the funds to donate at the moment, but in the next couple days I'm hoping to. You are the type of person I would trust with both of my kids. I will always keep you in my heart. You protected those children, and if I had a thousand dollars, every penny would go to you. This world needs more people like you. We are all here for you! Get well soon!
Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and donations. Martha and her family are truly appreciative.
As a mother of two I know there is nothing more important than my children's safety. You took a stand for those innocent children and that is nothing short of amazing. God bless you.
The local sheriff, Don Bell, posted that the woman that police were looking for , turned herself in about 6 pm Friday. May the judicial system do their job and give Martha the justice she so richly deserves.
please use some of the money to counsel the children who had to witness this tragedy. the news reporter said the man was trying to take "a child" so, was it his child?
You are an amazing woman!!! A true hero indeed! I hope you a speedy recovery and that your attackers get what they deserve! Again, you are amazing!
I applaud you. You are an everyday HERO!!! Speedy Recovery!
Martha, I am so sorry to hear about your attack. I will be praying for your recovery. Just know that you are loved.
God bless you, and your courage!
Martha I don't have the funds to donate at the moment. But I'd like to tell you what a wonderful person u are. Your definitely a hero for protecting these children. God only knows what could of happened to these children if you would have let them go with TherE intoxicated father. I wish there were more people out there like you. God bless you sending lots of prayers your way for a very easy and quick healing recovery.
God's blessings on you and your family as you recover and heal! So very sorry this happened to an amazingly tough caregiver! Your sacrifice, heart, and example are greatly supported! ~
You are an amazing woman! All the best for the recovery
I wish I had the money to donate because it's people like you who give single moms, working parents, and parents who have to rely on daycares, their piece of mind! It's not every day you hear of a daycare worker putting themself in harms way for the children they care for!! For that I want to say thank you from my entire family and we will be praying for you and a speedy recovery!! God bless you!!
