Hello Everyone,

I want to take a moment to say a HUGE thank-you to each and everyone of you that have donated towards Marthas recovery.
I would also like to take a moment to introduce myself!

I am Krista Osterwyk-McKnight , a very close friend to Martha and her family, growing up babysitting her own 4 boys since the oldest one was an infant! You could also say I was the daughter she never had as well :) Living the summers with her helping out around the daycare and with her family during her busy season of Martha being a huge part in the S.W.Y.R.A, so she not only cares for kids but is a huge part in rodeo for them as well!

The funds that are being collected are being put to good uses in so many categories:
-Counseling
-lost wages, having to pay two employees to keep her daycare open during her healing time
-Medical, a very huge portion of this will be going towards the dr appts and surgery for her eye
-any other expenses that she will be faced with during this time

Thanks again for all the love and support :) I will continue to update everyone as she heals as well!
-Krista

This is Martha McClure the daycare owner that got assaulted by Francis Jackson while protecting the children at her daycare. She is not only a loving, caring and very supportive mother but loves every child that is in her care as one of her own.

Thank you for all you prayers and support. Martha had surgery on her eye Monday Oct. 12th and has a long road of healing ahead of her.

Hello all !!! Sorry for the delay in updates or thank yous!
Martha is continuing her recovery everyday and has a follow up appointment this week that I will also give you an update about :)
Her vision is still struggling to track so she is still sleeping elevated due to the fluids around the eye still , she has to take it slow when getting up in the morning and can't just "fly " out of bed or turn her head quickly at any time ! She was excited to finally bend over and be able to pick something up with out have a head rush feeling :) so progress is sure being made :)

On a happy note she is enjoying being back at work everyday with the kids!! My son Cooper was lucky enough to attend her daycare for 8 days this past week because I was in town helping my parents at their hardware store :) it was my sons first time ever in a daycare and he adapted well and had a great time!! I was very thankful for Martha having him !
Thank you all again for the continuous support and thoughts !
I will have another update after the appointment :)

Good afternoon ! Wow I can't believe the generosity In the last 24hrs.
Again thank you all so very much for reaching out via : postcards, emails , kind comments and generous donations .
It has been brought to my attention and concern as to WHY MARTHA is not the one posting updates or thanking everyone . Great question and concern ... But as I have stated and we all know she is having focus issues and double vision there for the computer or her phone is the last thing she is wanting to sit and focus on !
Also she is not a very techy person as well, and I told her that since I I created this site that I would maintain it :) I talk to her almost daily and prior to every update so that I DO in fact know the right words to put for the update also if I typed out how many times she has said "thank you " or that she is overwhelmed with all of this , the page would be miles long :)
Martha is VERY thankful for each and everyone that has sent their love , support and donation.
She had the state of Oregon contact her asking "how they could better prepare their daycares for these situations "
Her response was " it's not about preparing, but being aware of all your little ones situations whether they are good or bad" she feels that is what helped her react the way she did because she was aware of the girls' father not having custody :)

Thank you all for everything :) have a great day :)

Martha, I do not have the funds to donate to you at the moment, but I would like to tell you how amazing you are. You did not have to endure what you did, yet you put yourself in the possible face of death for another mother's children. You are a hero.

These stories never seem to go this way. Usually it ends up with a daycare letting the kid(s) go and the headline is something about missing or murdered children. Martha the wounds and bruises you have now are marks of the warrior you are. You are a credit to your profession and to the human race. Many people would turn to self preservation mode, you extended your mamma bear mode to those kids and that's wonderful!

I wish I had the money to donate because it's people like you who give single moms, working parents, and parents who have to rely on daycares, their piece of mind! It's not every day you hear of a daycare worker putting themself in harms way for the children they care for!! For that I want to say thank you from my entire family and we will be praying for you and a speedy recovery!! God bless you!!
