Bob Shue's Future Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
In a little shop in Concord, NC, there sits a man. He is bent over an instrument trying to make even the most intricate detail perfect. He knows that this instrument will be played for many years on stage and mean the world to the person who obtains it when its ready. It has to be perfect. He looks at the time and decides its time to stop for the evening. He started working early this morning and it is now after dark. He stands up and realizes just how tired he is. He turns out the lights and turns to take one last look in the shop before closing the door. "I will work on it some more tomorrow. This one is going to be beautiful" he thinks to himself....

The Bob Shue that we all know and love needs our help. Throughout many health struggles and challenges that he has faced over the years, he has always managed to pull through. That's the kind of man he is. He's a fighter. A stubborn man that refuses to be held back by anything. A man that we called "Ol Bob Shue", or "Pop", or "Pappaw Bob".  Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that he can be strong and fight much longer. His body is too tired to go on. The multiple heart attacks and congestive heart failure have taken their toll on him. He can no longer play his beloved banjo due to his health conditions. Now, he can just sit and listen peacefully with his eyes closed while others play for him. He can no longer build instruments for his fellow musicians. He can just pray they enjoy playing the ones he so lovingly built in the past.  Hospice has been called in and is helping make him comfortable through this difficult time. While his family has no exact time frame of how long they have left with him here on this earth, they have been told it's not long.

Unfortunately, the plans that Bob had to pay for his final expenses haven't worked out as planned. He purchased a burial plot years ago so that is paid for already. That leaves his family with funeral expenses. We are being told that the average funeral costs are around $8000. That is why we turn to you. His family. His friends. His fellow musicians. All of the people that he mentored throughout his years in the bluegrass industry. Anyone that has ever loved this sweet and caring man. He has been so many things to so many people during his life. From a brother, father, and husband to a luthier, musician, and fellow bandmember. He is loved by so many and loves just as much in return. Please, if you can find it in your heart to contribute to his expenses, we ask you to donate.

Any donation helps. Every donation made will go directly to Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord NC when the goal is reached for his expenses.
