Ethan Scott's Medical Fund
Ethan Scott is a 15 year old from Gastonia, NC who loves his parents, three brothers, extended family and friends – and treats everyone he meets with true kindness. Ethan enjoys reading and exploring the outdoors, and he has a rock solid faith in God, attending church every Sunday. In August 2016, Ethan was diagnosed with mixed germ cell cancer. He had surgery and then underwent several rounds of chemotherapy in the fall. To the dismay of Ethan and his family, his treatment was unsuccessful and he is now diagnosed with refractory mixed germ cell cancer – which means his cancer cells are resistant to chemo. Despite this turn of events, Ethan continues to be a model of faith and courage, and he truly is living every day with a beautiful spirit of hope. He has recently committed to a nutrition program, with his mom spending hours in the kitchen to prepare quality meals and snacks that the family hopes will reverse the cancer that has invaded his young body.
Ethan’s loving parents, Lauri and Gary, are looking at every option available to find a cure for Ethan, including programs in the U.S. and beyond our borders. As you can imagine, medical expenses are piling up which is especially challenging on Ethan’s family.
Those of us who know Ethan are in awe at his positive attitude in the face of such a difficult journey. Ethan has inspired his entire family and his many friends to live with faith in a loving God, and to never lose hope despite the challenges ahead. We know Ethan is a fighter and he will continue to fight this disease. Please take the time to support Ethan and his family - both with a donation and a prayer.
All donations will be used towards medical expenses and Ethan’s nutrition program – and every dollar counts. Thanks so much for your kindness, and may God bless you.
Lauri and Gary and Ethan want to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers and financial support. It is through you that they experience God's presence and love in a very special way as they walk this journey.
Be strong Ethan. It'll be a rough road ahead but it's important to keep your head up and NEVER EVER give up! Don't give up hope because your family's love and care will help you through this. I know from being around hospitals a lot that the doctors and nurses will do everything in their power to help you get better. You can get through this Ethan. I know you can
How do I express my gratitude to all of you for such an outpouring of generosity we have received over this past month? I have not stopped crying since I began reading all of the beautiful words of encouragement and seeing so many gifts given to us. We came to Mexico today believing God would provide a way to help Ethan, though I didn't know exactly how we could come up with the kind of money needed. I am overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of generosity from so many! Tomorrow, I will read to Ethan each and every message you all have sent. You have provided us a way, and you have given us much hope. May God bless you a hundredfold ❤
