As we all have seen recently, our brothers and sisters in Flint, Michigan are going through hardships that challenge their health and the communal quality of life. The water that is avaialble to the citizens of Flint has grossly contaminated. Water is a undeniable human right, needed to support human life. No human being should have to be subjected to drinking polluted water, especially in one of the wealthiest countries in the world.

The Union of Minority Neighborhoods, a Boston-based social justice organization, is reaching out to our friends and families to pull our resources together to send assistance to our friends in Flint. We will be raising money to purchase water to send to Flint.

On Saturday, February 20th, we will be loading up a truck full of water to send to Flint. We ask you all to donate money to the fund (Which will be used to purchase water bottles) or drop off water on February 20th to help out our brothers and sisters. The location and time of the send-off will be sent out as soon as they are set.

Our collaborators include: Lena Park Community Development Corporation, the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry, the Howard Rye Institute, State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, State Representative Marjorie Decker, City Councillor Tito Jackson
