The purpose of this GoFundMe is to celebrate life and love in the face of a cancer diagnosis by giving my friends the honeymoon of their dreams; Wrestlemania.

This past December shortly before her golden 27th birthday, my favorite friend Simone was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma, a non-small cell lung cancer developed from a genetic mutation. Not a month later, I anxiously made the drive from Philadelphia to her home in Cleveland to be face to face with for the first time since the diagnosis--and attend her wedding. Needless to say, I was worried. The distance between our respective cities made it difficult for me to understand the scope of her illness and her subsequent decision to get hitched right away did little to assuage my fears.

Simone and I first met in Chicago in 2014. Brought together by musical connections, we bonded over our mutual love of professional wrestling as we quickly forged a friendship stronger than John Cena himself. Every Wednesday night we would hang out, watch wrestling and make nachos and drink seltzer. Immediately, it became our tradition and my favorite day of the week. We attended our first Monday Night Raw together, which, short of Wrestlemania, is the most important thing that Wrestle Buddies can do together.
Even after we both left Chicago, we kept in touch often, always at the other end of a chain of wrestling-related texts. From the beginning, we agreed that some day we’d make our pilgrimage to Wrestlemania together and in the meantime SEE AS MUCH WRESTLING AS WE POSSIBLY COULD. In 2016 Simone bought us tickets to WWE Fastlane for my birthday, I flew from Portland to Cleveland to see Brock Lesnar throw grown men around, as Wrestle Buddies should.

Simone has always stayed an unshakably positive and supportive friend to those in her life. She’s one of the toughest humans I’ve ever met, all while maintaining an open and caring heart. This difficult cancer diagnosis has only magnified these remarkable qualities within her. She is an exceptional Wrestle Buddy and I’m honored to call her a friend.
On January 20th Simone married her wonderful and kind partner, Michael. I only met him in person days before the wedding but immediately we bonded. It’s real- we’ve exchanged memes daily ever since. At the wedding, Michael told me that since early in their relationship they've spent Wednesday nights together watching wrestling and making food. I already knew he was the right man for Simone, but this cemented my love for him. I am overjoyed that this is the man Simone is spending her life with. In whatever way I can, I want to ensure that the life they live together is full of love, wrestling, and nachos.

So we need your help. All funds raised are being given directly to Simone and Michael for the following:

- 3 TICKETS TO WRESTLEMANIA 35 @ METLIFE STADIUM April 7th, 2019. Wrestlemania is currently sold out, which requires us to purchase from a secondary ticket seller

- MISC. HONEYMOON EXPENSES: travel to/from Cleveland to NY, lodging, nachos & seltzer, souvenirs, candy, sparkles, rainbows

- Medical expenses, life expenses, and assistance in caring for their menagerie of 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a snake while battling the unprecedented bitch that is Stage 4 cancer in your 20s

If like us, you’re a lover of friendship and/or wrestling, PLEASE HELP US SHARE OUR STORY. Send this link to everyone you know; Wrestle Buddies, Grandmas, Social Media followers, etc.

And that’s the bottom line, because Stone Cold said so.

Hi there, everyone!

First of all, we don't even know what to say. It has been a little over five days and the campaign that Aaron set up on our behalf has already nearly met its goal. We can't express enough how much we appreciate the support, and even if we don't meet the goal, we can say, at the very least, we get to go to Wrestlemania. We couldn't get there without your help, and for that we are so thankful.

Any remaining funds will be going directly to medical expenses, supplementing lost income from previous hospital admissions, and a donation to the Cleveland Clinic.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. The love we have felt from everyone--whether or not you could support the campaign, whether or not we know you--has been greater than we could anticipate.

With gratitude and superkicks,

Simone (and Michael)

Hey Internet,

It’s been a little over 24 hours and we’ve already raised $3,000. Holy crap. If that wasn’t cool enough, I was contacted by a friend of Simone and Michael’s this morning who has offered to purchase their flights for Wrestlemania. This awesome gesture takes care of a large expense for the weekend, making way for a higher nacho budget at Wrestlemania itself.

People have been sharing this like crazy on Facebook and it’s trending on GoFundMe, thank you for your help in spreading this campaign so far. If you’re so inclined, a tweet would be a huge signal boost for this campaign. For ease of sharing, here’s a shortened url: https://bit.ly/2GtbY1T #WrestlemaniaHoneymoon

Also, a huge thank you goes to my friend Bridgid Tatlow for her consultation and help in writing this campaign.

I cannot express how grateful I am to everyone who has donated for supporting this cause and celebrating the love between Simone and Michael. Let’s keep this momentum going!
