Treasure's College Tuition Fund

Hello, everyone!

Before I explain my story, I would like to thank each and every person in advance for taking the time out of their day to view, share, or even donate to my campaign in order for me to stay in college. Any amount helps, no matter how small or how large. I truly appreciate all of the love and support.

My name is Treasure Tabor. I will be a junior in the fall at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in criminal justice/criminology. Throughout my time at Hampton, I have been involved with many different clubs and organizations, including but not limited to: the Psychology club, the HUnderground, and the Hampton Script. All while maintaining a spot on the Dean's List. As a result, I placed in the top 15 percent of my class and was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society. With all of these feats, there is still one obstacle that I have failed to conquer - finances.

On February 26, 2011, my world came crashing down when I received a phone call that my father passed away. It occurred during the most critical part of my life as I was only a 15-year-old in 10th grade. One of the many things we use to discuss was me going to college. Track and field was a major part of our lives. For many years, I ran track and my father served as a track coach so his dream was to see me run in college. After his passing, I lost the motivation to continue with the sport. However, I made it my mission to still go to college. I was accepted to Hampton University on a partial academic scholarship. The rest of my tuition I paid for out-of-pocket and through loans and grants. My family and friends have contributed in any way that they can, but we've fallen short on occasion. I have even applied to numerous jobs, but I have not been hired due to lack of experience. My mother wants me to achieve the type of education that she never got the chance to experience. However, she was recently laid off from her job and now it is ultimately up to me to raise this money.

The university told me that I need to pay off the rest of my balance from this past spring semester by August 2015 or else I will not be able to continue my education. This is my last chance to save my education.

Again, I want to thank everyone for reading my story and for your consideration to donate. If there are any questions, I can be reached through my profile.
