WPUT is non-profit, non-commercial radio station. It is also a labor of love. I built it from personal savings in 2012. Having started WREF(AM 850) in Ridgefield in 1985, and operating it for 10 years, I realized this great music had a large following. It was hoped that people in the area would discover and enjoy hearing it in FM stereo, especially with no commercials and few interruptions. It is a unique radio station!
We operate with no staff, as you can probably tell. In fact, it's so efficient that we're able to hold the station's operating costs to just over $200 a month.
Many of you out there listening have contacted us to express appreciation for the music we play, and we would like to begin cover operating expenses without resorting to any significant program interruptions or ongoing pledge drives. We've started this "GoFundMe" campaign for that purpose, with a goal of $2500, about one year's operating expenses. We will end the campaign as soon as we meet the goal. A contribution of any amount is welcome and most appreciated, but please note that while WPUT is non-profit and non-commercial, we are not a 501(c)(3), so you may not be able to claim a tax deduction.
