Help the Taylors

Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting my go fund me page! I decided on my own accord to help the Taylor family after learning about their terrible experience and loss of family belongings. As a fellow Coast Guard member I wanted to help my Coast Guard family anyway I could. Please donate or share the page! Any help is appreciated. Below is the story in Rachel Taylor’s own words.
“Transferring itself is hard. But with moving so many times, you start to just trust the moving & shipping companies and hope and pray your things get to your next home. Well that is not what happened in our case this transfer. The shipping company who was assigned to us, incorrectly placed all our wooden crates and cardboard boxes onto a open flatbed truck. This company drove it to South Carolina through days of rain and snow from California after all of our entire household goods left Hawaii. Numerous inspections were done along the way, many people helped load it all. And no one thought this was a bad idea. A couple crates the moving company opened told us they opened the crates and water just poured out. Our furniture, photos, baby clothes, literally everything we owned, saved up for, everything we were ever gifted was pretty much ruined. We have been married for almost 10 years and had a totally done home, now we have been living in this new house that we were originally so excited to buy and move into, we have basically been living in it empty for 6 months. The worst part is the shipping company isn’t even giving us a check for even half of what our entire home added up to be. They had 60 days to try and settle with us since this was a mold case and it’s been almost 6 months. Not only did this whole situation make us loose everything like clothes, shoes, every piece of furniture, but more infuriating we lost priceless items in the process too (our daughter’s hospital blanket, newborn cap, first shoes, first toys, honeymoon trinkets and special sentimental items from our time living in Hawaii) the items made it to the restoration company, but were lost during the cleaning process. Just another bonus to the government contracting out work that you have no control over. Now the shipping company are completely scamming us to withhold almost $6000 from our reimbursement check to make us pay for ridiculous items like storage, boxes and packing paper ?!?! Basically making us pay for these things like it was our decision to have nothing for 6 months and to have it cleaned. This whole thing was their fault in the first place. It’s also like they purposely dragged their heels with our claim to make us pay $5000 in storing it all instead of getting our claim figured out within the 60 days. This has put such a depressing strain on our lives and marriage and starting out somewhere new like I said is hard enough already. I hope the military closes all ties with this shipping company forever so no other military family has to start over like this ever again.”
