Worthington's Landslide Recovery
Donation protected
What's happened:
David and Carolyn Worthington bought this, their first house, in 1976 as a young couple with a little dog. Over the years they enlarged and improved it as they raised three children and became a part of the schools and community.
They were counting on this house as their only retirement asset. They intended to sell it and move into a smaller place and fund thier retirement with the proceeds. But recent heavy rails and landslides have it crumbeling before their eyes. The house has been red-tagged and may be a total loss, as homeowner's insurace does not cover landslides.
The need:
Right now, the family needs your help for storage and moving expenses, as well as the costs associated with establishing a new home.
The house coming apart:

The Worthington's street has droped more than 10 feet:

Huge cracks appear the land slides and pulls the home apart:

Local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is briefed on upcoming evacuation:

The community helps with the emergency evacuation:

A note from the family:
Within a few days we went from concern for our neighbors to experiencing ourselves the disaster of the home we love breaking apart. We so appreciate the outpouring of concern and help from the many fiends, neighbors, emergency personnel and volunteers who came to help move us out of the house on Saturday, January 21st. This makes us realize anew how much we love this community and will miss it
