World Kite Altitude Record

In 2014 our team of four broke the Guinness World Record for the altitude of a single kite. This was the culmination of 10 years of annual attempts at a remote sheep station in Western NSW, Australia. We flew a 12 sq metre kite to 16,009 ft above the ground. This feat was also registered in The Australian Book Of Records. After a break of over four years we are planning on further attempts on the World record with a target of 20,000 ft for a single kite and 40,000 ft for a train of multiple kites. The high altitude kite flying requires technology, machinery, expertise and permission from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. We intend or first series of flights in August 2020 then annually until our first target is reached, then our second target will be attempted. Hopefully this will take only four years rather than the 10 years it took for our first record. The costs will be reduced because we are now experts at high altitude kite flying but we are still subject to the  luck of wind conditions. We will return to Western NSW but will not be flying from exactly the same location. It was a great feat to achieve the Guinness World Record and we hope that our achievements will again lift the morale of struggling farmers in regional NSW and also inspire others to aim high in life and to never give up.
Some of the team has retired and we cannot afford to support a record program so the need for crowd funding. There is also a new development in the potential for high altitude kite flying with Ion Power Group in the USA investigating extraction of electricity from atmospheric Ions.
