World Cadet Taekwondo Championships 2019
My name is Aikan Granier-Ameur, I am 12 yo. I started Taekwondo at just under 4 yo. I am a second Dan black belt. 2 time National Champion in sparring and 1 time National champion in Poomsae.
I train 6 days a week. My mum drives 45mns each to training daily. I compete in tournaments since the age of 5. I compete locally, nationally and internationally.
I am in a Sports Excellence Program at school, year 7. I have been offered a full scholarship this year due to my high level of sport.
I have good grades, good behavior at school, and obtain great school reports. I do not miss school nor training for any reason other than sickness or physical problems if hurt somewhere.
I have my eyes set on the Olympics Games 2024 in Paris, which is far but so close.
I have competed in the World Cadet Taekwondo Championships selections yesterday and had a great day.
Through tough opponents, I made my way up to Gold, qualifying me for the World Cadet Championships in Uzbekistan in August 7th to 10th, perfect dates as my birthday is on the 9th!
We were 7 contestants in my division Under 33kgs. I have 3 fights and won them all, 34-16, 29-9 and 22-5.
It was my dream to be qualified this year for the Worlds. And I did it!

While I have big dream, it always comes with high costs, my parents both work hard and support any competitions I want to go to.
This year I have decided to help them and see if anyone out there would help them too.
It will cost between $3000 to $4000 for the trip alone, and $500 for the official National Team uniform, tracksuit, belt and polo shirt, most with embroidery.
In Australia, even making it to the National Team, you still have to pay for everything, unlike European countries.
Any donation will be welcomed and blessed from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my passion.
