Becky's fight against cancer
Everyone who knows Becky knows that she is kind-hearted, loving, thoughtful, positive, and hard-working. She would do anything for anyone, no matter what. When her husband went through his surgeries and chemo she was right by his side. She worked extra hours to make ends meet, was his home nurse, and took care of his every need, keeping a positive attitude throughout, and just powering through. Unfortunately, she is now the one who needs our help.
Becky will need a lumpectomy, radiation, lymph node removal, and 4-6 months of chemotherapy. She will be unable to work her job as a flight attendant during her treatment. Additionally, she and Derrick are still paying off medical bills from his cancer treatment.
We are reaching out to Becky's amazing and supportive network of friends and family to help in any way. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to Becky and Derrick during the next few months.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting Becky!
Becky's drain is out and She starting to feel a little bit better. Surgery was harder than She anticipated, but she's extremely strong and now that part is behind her.
They have been waiting for all sorts of tests to come back to proceed with the game plan. Thank god she got the news today that her CT scan, bone scan, and some secondary tests have all come back CLEAR! Yay!!! Woohoo Her stage is 2B. Since the cancer had moved to her lymph nodes, that's the only thing that makes it stage 2 instead of stage 1 (2 of the 18 nodes they took came back positive).
The next step is 20 weeks of chemo, a combination of a couple types Which starts Dec 13th. Becky said her doctors have been so sweet and are working with her to make sure She still has hair for her brother's wedding on Dec 23rd. They also set it up so she won't feel crummy on Christmas . ❤️
Becky is relieved and ready to move on to the next step!
Thank you everyone, your prayers, love and support have been getting becky through this crazy time❤️

So far, the current situation is pretty much hurry up and wait. She has been to imaging and radiology appointments, fertility preservation appointments, seen radiologists and Shes met her surgeon and her team.
Dr. Jeruss at U of M is amazing, and they were able to get her scheduled for surgery on October 27th but they may move it up depending on if they get her pre-operative stuff done before then.
Becky said, this Dr is committed to a balance between aggressive treatment and helping to keep her life as normal as possible. So that's great!
Becky is staying positive , spending time at home and spending with her nephews.
Thank you all again!!! We will continue to update everyone.
