It's been a very emotional time at Cinque Ports Rescue, we have been asked to help some very special dogs and Wanda is no exception. She was only a 15 week old pup born with deformed front legs and struggled to be mobile so, even though our funds were rapidly depleting, we just knew we had to help her.
After 2 surgeries to straighten her forelegs, and having initially been given a clean bill of health, one of the surgeries has failed and she now faces further surgery to prevent amputation. Wanda needs a corrective osteotomy on her left foreleg to remove a section of bowed ulna bone and to fix her elbow joint as there is currently no ligament or cartilage holding them it in place, despite her previous operations. Even with a generous discount from the specialist orthopaedic vets we still need to raise £2,500 to fund her operation.
