WHY WE MARCH
We are marching because despite some recent victories, there is still so much work to be done. Children are dying at our borders. Reproductive rights are vanishing. Opportunity for success is being denied to entire swaths of our population. We can’t be quiet now.
We are organizing the 2019 rally and march to honor the unity principles and lift up voices that aren’t commonly heard. And we are organizing a day of action to help the growing population of people looking for ways to be involved deepen their commitment to the movement, and connect with others who are looking to take significant action to improve their lives and the lives of others.
THE ORGANIZERS OF SEATTLE'S WOMXN'S MARCH and DAY OF ACTION
This year, both the March and the Day of Action are being organized by Seattle Womxn Marching Forward, a grassroots group comprised of womxn who organized the 2017 Womxn’s March on Seattle. We are committed to upending the white supremacist patriarchal structures, attitudes, and institutions that continue to negatively impact womxn and their families locally and nationally. Learn more about the team here .
WHY YOUR DONATION MATTERS
Both the march and day of action have basic requirements to make sure the events are accessible and safe. Funds donated to Seattle Womxn Marching Forward will go towards:
- Permitting and insurance
- AV requirements for the rally
- Sanitation, and safety needs like barricades
- HUB space locations rentals
- Accessibility services including ASL and CART on Day of Action
- Incidentals for event speakers, panelists, healers, facilitators, and trainers
We are raising funds through our fiscal sponsor, Reel Grrls Inc . 5% of all donations given to the Womxn's March on Seattle will benefit Reel Grrls.
