We are the only Venezuelan representation at the Washington Model Organization of American States 2019. This is an annual event that consists on a simulation of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), an interuniversity debate where all the participants work with the purpose of proposing solutions and projects created by themselves, which allow solving situations such as: regional conflicts, peacekeeping, human rights, role and social responsibility of public and private companies, and economic and social development. To then be discussed in the five (5) Committees that make up the model, and to be voted in front of a group of university students from all over the hemisphere.
We are twelve students who will represent our country and our public university, Universidad Central de Venezuela at the Headquarters of the OAS in Washington D.C., United States of America.
We work hard, academically and in administrative matters to reach our main goal, which is representing Venezuela by being part of this huge event. This goal is not impossible, but it is hard for us due to the condition Venezuela is going through in this moment. We came to this funding web page asking for international support because we do not have any support from institutions, only from those who believe and invest in this type of which seeks to create new political and social leaders.
We have been participating since 2000 reaching positions in the WMOAS from steering tables to the presidency of the model at the last edition in 2018, it is important to take into account that these positions are achieved with a good participation and by vote of the other delegations. This year, our main motivation is to continue generating talent, achieving significant development in our training as professionals, citizens and people able to serve as leaders and builders of the future of Venezuela.
For spending the 10 days we'll be in Washington D.C we'd need at least $1,188 each delegate (there are 12 of us) this is for paying the accommodation, and your help would also be our funds for food and transportation, for all of us, while the activity is carried out. Besides, there is a registration fee we have to pay to the organization that hosts the event: $950 the whole delegation.
In this journey we've had many obstacles and challenges that we have overcame successfully, and now we come to you asking to help us overcome this difficulty with us. We won't give up, we bet on excellence knowing that united we will achieve our goals.

Somos la representación del país y de la Universidad Central de Venezuela en el Modelo de la Organización de los Estados Americanos en Washington (WMOAS por sus siglas en inglés), y necesitamos de tú ayuda para lograr nuestra meta.
Como muchos saben, estamos en una situación económica bastante grave en nuestro país, y el poder obtener dólares es casi imposible.
Estamos trabajando muy duro preparándonos para el gran evento en Washington en Abril del 2019. Pero necesitamos contar con una base monetaria suficiente para poder cubrir nuestros gastos de estadía, inscripción al modelo, comida y transporte.
Somos 12 los que conformamos esta delegación y necesitamos:
$1.188 para gastos de estadía,
$950 para el pago de inscripción al modelo y
$1500 para gastos de transporte y comida.
Queremos representar y poner en alto el nombre de Venezuela en este evento académico tan importante. Pero necesitamos una ayuda extra
Pedimos su ayuda si está a tú alcance; cada dólar cuenta. De no ser así, con la difusión de la campaña a personas o instituciones que piensen que nos puedan dar cualquier tipo de ayuda sería perfecto.
Recuerda, como dijo Benjamin Franklin: "una inversión en conocimiento siempre paga el mejor interés". Cada dólar cuenta para nosotros.
